If you picture the PTA as just a small crew of parents who meet now and then to plan bake sales, you may be in for a big surprise. The Parent Teacher Association, or PTA, is a huge and very influential nationwide organization with state and local affiliates throughout the country. The national PTA is headquartered in Chicago and promotes parent involvement in school communities. It is also a powerful lobbying organization in state legislatures and in Washington, D.C..

 

National PTA Mission Statement:

The overall purpose of PTA is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.

 

Robinson Elementary PTA Mission Statement:

We bring parents and teachers together to enrich the elementary school experience through exciting events for students and their families. We strive to offer programs that teach responsibility, enlighten empathy, provide memories, foster self-confidence, encourage respect for others, and prepare students with leadership skills for the ever-changing challenges of life.

 

Robinson Elementary PTA Vision:

   *Partner: Bring educational staff and community together to enhance curriculum and raise funds that support our school programs and events.
   *Represent: Advocate and speak on behalf of all children in District and State forums.
   *Involve: Encourage greater parental support by providing a variety of opportunities to volunteer.
   *Enrich: Organize safe, fun, and educational activities where our students develop their individual talents and abilities.
