Chalk Art Festival (Spring)

At the end of the school year, we have an Annual Chalk Art Festival!  Using the ground as a canvas and deeply-hued artist’s chalk as a medium, students create 6’ x 6’ masterpieces and turn the school into an enchanted outdoor art museum. The class chooses a piece of art to replicate and, using a grid system on the asphalt, they work individually on their dedicated space. After a long and fun day of teamwork, their talents materialize into a classroom masterpiece.  Parent volunteers (no art experience needed) also have fun helping students create small parts of the big picture. During Open House the following day, “Chalk Walk” is officially open to all visitors and it one of Robinson Elementary’s proudest moments!
